A high-absorption curcumin extract with black pepper, formulated for ocular comfort and tear film stability. Sixty capsules.

Why curcumin, and why with black pepper

Curcumin is the active compound in turmeric and the reason turmeric is studied at all. Its problem is bioavailability — taken alone, very little of it reaches the bloodstream. Piperine, from black pepper, substantially increases absorption, which is why serious formulations pair the two rather than selling turmeric powder.

Where it fits in dry eye treatment

Chronic dry eye has an inflammatory component. The surface is irritated, the lid margin is often inflamed, and that inflammation both causes symptoms and perpetuates the underlying gland dysfunction. Curcumin is aimed at that environment rather than at the mechanical blockage.

That makes it a companion to the rest of a routine rather than a replacement for it. Treatment that targets only one mechanism tends to stall, which is why the supplements, the heat and the lid hygiene are usually done together.

Pairing it with omega-3

InflamBoost+ and LipidBoost+ are designed to be taken together. Omega-3 changes the composition of the oil your glands secrete; curcumin works on the inflammatory environment those glands sit in. Our guide to eye nutrition covers how supplementation fits into a longer treatment plan.

Who it is for

People managing chronic rather than occasional dry eye, particularly where there is a persistent inflammatory picture — red lid margins, ongoing irritation, symptoms that never fully settle. If you are not sure which pattern you have, start with identifying the mechanism.

Common questions

Why is black pepper included?

Curcumin is poorly absorbed on its own. Piperine, the active compound in black pepper, substantially increases how much of it reaches the bloodstream, which is why the two are routinely formulated together.

How long before it makes a difference?

Like omega-3, this works on inflammation over weeks to months rather than producing immediate relief. Judge it over a full course, not a fortnight.

Can I take it alongside LipidBoost+?

Yes. They work on different parts of the same problem: omega-3 on the composition of the oil your glands produce, curcumin on the inflammatory environment around them.

Are there interactions to check?

Curcumin can affect bleeding time and may interact with anticoagulants, some diabetes medication and acid reducers. Check with your doctor if you take regular medication, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does this replace heat and lid hygiene?

No. Supplements address the internal environment; heat and lid cleaning address the mechanical blockage. A routine that uses only one of the two generally underperforms.
